So I’ve seen a lot of kitbashing with these two bodies of primaries marines. Where can I find them? Normally I see a kitbash and I know where all the piece came from but not these ones.
I’m going to guess....ultramarines.

So it doesn’t show it in great detail but I think it breaks down Barney style for the colors on the shoulder that has the flame on it to the point where it help
Your not wrong. To long of a barrel will start to slow down a round/bolt because of friction as well as the barrel diameter needs to be large enough for the round/bolt to travel through, while also small enough to keep the pressure contestant from the ignition pressure pushing it and allowing the rifling spin in the barrel to turn the bullet for even further accuracy+distance. But I have two counter points to add to this conversation (again I realize this is all fictional and this is just fun back and forth with mechanical lore),
1. Then why do SM extend their barrels for stalker bolters and sniper rifles (for the scouts) which adds range to those weapon types in both lore and in game. And those are extensions and not suppressors. A suppressor would muffle the sound, reduce recoil, and take away most of the muzzle flash but it also subtracts distance traveled to do those things.
2. Their needs to be a long enough barrel for the round to travel through the rifling to get enough spin to actual make a difference. I propose the lore creators at GW started to pick that up, which is why a bolt gun/rifles started to their magazine wells closer to trigger assembles on their models and get away from the earlier (60s) pics showing the magazine well almost at the end of the barrel on bolt guns. (Which is what I original started my point in this conversation with).
But, that’s just my opinion based on my military knowledge and what I see as the use of this and that. Yes it’s put into the far future, but I’d suggest that the fundamentals of the bolter deals a lot with modern features and mechanics, more so than the las-gun or the shurivken cannons. That’s at least my opinion, what do you think Quel
Yep, I’d agree your comment on the general stuff, but I’d submit a bolter gun/round is more like an AT4 rather than a RPG, in the sense that there is still some barrel the RP goes through rather than just being stuck on the noses. I’d suggest we live it at “it’s just a coolness factor” because I think even the GW has mixed things up. So, even in the time period I was speaking of art work that shows the short barrel on the big gun, you still see the extended barrel on bolt guns for sniping, because it’s the rifling in the barrel that adds the spin to the bullet (in this case the bolt) so it can fly straighter for longer showing that they acknowledge rifling is involved, and the physics behind a longer barrel giving the shooter more range has been around before rifling was around (so in the last 300-400 years real world). Plus, the closest round used in surplus would be the 40mm grenade and m203/302 grenade launcher. Since it’s personal sized, looks like an over sized bullet, and the barrel has some rifling. Also, the large machine gun version (the mrk 19) is basically what can be compared to the heavy bolter in 40k, which still has a barrel too.
Lol ok, to focus the question more, the main body/pose of part. I recognize the parts that are Templar and fist. Think I found it though, their both bodies for Lieutenants.
Quel, I always respect your knowledge and value your opinion on here, but I disagree with you on parts of your comment on this one (though completely agree with the orks part lol). But I also hate it when these open questions get all negative and it more often goes bad (plus I haven’t had my coffee yet) so, I’m just going to say that I disagree and i’m moving on. Also, just not in the mood for the chance for a heated conversation, which I know your not one of those type of people, but these talks tend to act like a black hole for them.
I agree with that the auto senses they have prob explains all of the lack of butt stock cause they have HUD’s to be more accurate.

Lol the eliminators primaris SM have stocks on their gats. And I look at the orks not having any butt stocks similar to Afghan’s liking to take their butt stock off their AK’s. We always had to remind them to put them back on. Their reason was something like,”if Allah wants me to hit it, he’ll direct my bullet”. It’s funny cause I too was trained to shoot, and one of my post long ago was asking about the early art work of space marines. See in the earlier days the magazine well (and there for where the magazine entered the gun for those that don’t know) was way to close to the front of the barrel. Shorter barrel, shorter range; been that way since muskets. Course more modern art and models of 40k are a little more corrected on this.
I might of creamed in my pants a little when I saw them. Oh the possible kitbashes, and even though I don’t collect those type chapters, oh the painting I could do. Lol
I know it’s still a brush and not an airbrush but have you tried the dry-brushing method yet? It can be a quicker way to get things painted with what you have already so you wont have to spend more money, or at least a lot of money.
Your right, forgot about them. Aren’t they more like giant snake people though?
But at the very least they did have lizard people type troops. Yeah sounds like GW just screwing the xenos armies by taking away stuff again. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a hard core space marine player, but I also like to see more attention given to xenos armies to make them more interesting. Take for instance the tau, their biggest thing is adapting to situations by using their technology. I’m pretty sure we’d of seen some special army types if not battalions similar to the idea of the imperiums reason for starting deathwatch.
I tried to just copy and paste the page but you can just look them up in this sites archives for more info. One of the additional alien armies the tau use are these lizard soldiers
No, no I’m not hold a sec
Think one of the tau mercenary armies in the lore but not yet on table top are what the imperial soldiers call dog soldiers which are basic lizard people or the Gorns from Star Trek. That work out great
I’ve thought about that myself. For human fire warriors I’ve been dabbling with the idea of kitbashing the tau thigh with human feet and giving them guard chest. The arms are the one thing I stubble on. I’ve seen some other kit bash were they use tau arms and hope no one notices the difference in fingers cause they want to keep the tau tech on the arm with a pulse rifle or just use the guard las rifle and arms. I started on one and its a bit of work I can tell you
