Chryllite nation:
Kingdom of Chrylli
Equipment:
NMG (nitrogenous machine gun): this is a twin-linked machine gun made to fire Nitrogenous salt pellets at high speed.
Daedrites: appendages attached to the back, each one of which has a single joint and is connected to the spine. (very similar to mechandrites, other than being much more sleek and smooth) They can host weapons, industrial usage, and many other things but are notable for being more flexible and more often weaponized than imperium mechandrites.
Accelerator bow: the accelerator bow is a novel weapon of extreme power wielded by the Serpentshrine guard. Attached to it is a kinetic sensor which, as the arrow leaves the bow, pulses extremely powerful negative magnetic impulses that propel the arrow forward.
Bolt glaive: this massive glaive-spear is edged in plasma, and attached to power armor, allowing it to burn through its enemies with immense force and power, making it a nearly unstoppable melee weapon.
Nitrogenous salts: kept at temperatures near absolute zero, these salts absorb all heat nearby them, freezing whatever they come into contact with in the process. As well, the salts expand even more rapidly, and being extremely volatile explodes when they come into contact with splinter charges.
Ionic cannon: The ionic cannon separates the ions out of a substance to launch them at high speeds in a narrow range. Also known as a base cannon, as when this comes into contact with hydrogen, it supersaturates it, increasing its ph level.
Scorcher cannon: the Scorcher cannon, also known as the magmatic burst cannon, loads magmatic cores (or superhyper magmatic cores for the smaller ones) which it then depressurizes in order to preserve ammunition, it suspends this lava in front of the weapon and uses magnetic propulsion to spray over a 15 degree radius for around 15 meters. The lighter versions of this can be wielded on foot, though these typically have very slow recharge (due to overheating) and a range of only around 12 meters.
Weighthammer: the weighthammer is an experimental weapon designed to be used by bomber craft. It fires balls of pure mass generated from the air around the ship, firing an extremely heavy, if otherwise ineffective, ball of matter that hammers against the enemy ships. This design is obviously very weak against shields, but against small vehicles it is unmatched.
SHPA (super heavy power armor): low tech super thick power armor. Harder than QTPA, but weaker than FTPA, this armor is stronger than even astartes power armor.
LTPA (light tactical power armor): lowest level of power armor, typically equipped with one through two tactical slots and room for a single light weapon. Provides some protection against most small arms, but won’t stop a really determined attack. Provides life support and minor medical fixation.
Archon cannon: The archon cannon is an oddity: instead of firing mass, it fires pure energy- strin radiation- in a stream of radiation to destroy its targets. The smallest version of this weapon is the superlight archon beam cannon, which is the size of a light ion cannon, or of a necron tesla carbine.
DTPA, TTPA, and QTPA (dual tactical power armor, tri-tactic power armor, and quad-tactic power armor): middle-level of power armor, from weakest fully operative to quad-tactic fully operative. Each one is armored with full skadrite plating, energy cloaking, and full-scale life support, not to mention a blink drive. The higher levels are more advanced, contain more special systems, and are heavier armored.
Splinter rifle/ shatterifle: the only actual rifle in the chryllian armada, it launches pellets by rifling them at immense speeds, launching them extremely fast. The rifle is rather weaker than normal chryllite weapons, but has extreme range. Its stated purpose, however, is much more powerful- when its ammunition comes into contact with nitro salts, it causes them to explode in a massive shattering explosion, doing heavy damage to even the strongest vehicles.
Pulse repeater: the pulse repeater fires pulses of supersaturated plasma. This plasma is kept in cells, within which the plasma is supercondensed, and then fed as much energy as could be held by them. Ionization is done in excess, removing and adding massive amounts of ions for every atom. In normal plasma, this would be the end of it, but this plasma is actually osmium. The extreme density of these particles allows even more energy to be input, until the plasma is supersaturated with it. These pulses of plasma are fed into a particle accelerator and suspension mechanism, suspending them in the perfect state until they can be launched without reducing their density, which markedly increases range and accuracy. The radiator varieties cost considerably more, as they also contain a supercondensed nuclear reactor which causes the plasma shot to be heavily irradiated by the energy signature the chryllites call ‘strin’ irradiation. This causes the plasma to hit with considerably more focus, energy, and most importantly, to focus the irradiation so that the energy dispenses on the target properly, doing permanent poisonous damage and turning the armor to a base. (As in, stops acid.) It is, of course, much more complicated than this… but I don’t really know how to make it! Like, its 40,000, much higher tech then I know about. But the general thing it does is place an irradiated charge which slowly burns through the enemy’s armor, releasing bursts of energy periodically.
Notes on ranking system:
there are six divisions of the army (Invasion force primary(land), Naval invasion force(space), serpentshrine guard(spec. ops, rough equivalent of space marines.), Techguard(similar to adeptus mechanicus crossed with a techmarine.), Purgewraiths and Purebloods (which are tasked with protecting against chaos, in particular nurgle and slannesh.)
Ranking:
Activuon (mark 1-2): light infantry deployed with Nitrogenous machine guns. Equipped with light titanium scale mail and fibrous armor, these soldiers make up 20% of chrylli’s ranks. Their armor can withstand very little assault, and their training is only mediocre (though by imperium standards, it’s excellent). While their Nitrogenous machine guns aren’t strong enough to even damage Astarte’s armor, the frosted shards are capable of damaging everything they hit, meaning that massed fire from the Activuon can do heavy damage to their enemy, particularly those with lighter armor, but is still capable of doing at least some damage to anything. Organized into full deployment schedules, the smallest division including half of them.
Assailant: (mark 2-3): deployed as combat assassins, equipped with energy cloak, energy shielding, and a light weapon of their choice. Armored with LTPA. Organized into squads.
Shadowbound: (mark 2-3): deployed as line infantry. Armed typically with a Pulse gun, though shatterifle’s are not unknown. Organized into squads.
Namin: (mark 3-4): The Namin are heavy shock cavalry who ride massive lizard-like creatures called trelli (trell singular). They are equipped with a massive power weapon called the bolt glaive, which can slice through power armor like plasma through stone (which, I’m guessing, is really well.) these glaives occupy only one hand, so they commonly equip splinter pistols in their offhand, shooting it into the midst of their enemies and killing targets already weakened by nitrogenous salts. Armored in DTPA
Staroth: (mark 3-4): Staroth are heavy infantry equipped with the heaviest infantry weapons in the arsenal. Commonly driving hydras or making up the front lines, they equip archon, scorcher, and Ionic cannons in their combat duties. Armored with SHPA
Chaglimneriman: (mark 3): Chaglimneriman are landside vehicle pilots. Each one is specialized in the operation of a single vehicle. Besides the chaglimneriman’s driving skills, they are also armored with LTPA and equipped with a splinter pistol.
Chochman: (mark 3): Heavy Weapons Team. Three per squad, each squad carries a cannon of some variety. Also carries Energy field shielding.
Serpentshrine Initiate: (mark 4.5): Psionic super soldier. Those with exceptional psionic capabilities are drafted into the Serpentshrine guard, a high-level system equivalent to the astartes. The Serpentshrine initiates are the majority of the guard, with guardians being only the highest leveled and most powerful soldiers in the entire armada. These initiates are equipped with the highest grade equipment, armored in quad-tactic power armor and equipped with pulse radiators as medium-long engagement weapons. However, their true weapon lays in their trademark weapon- the accelerator bow, a bow which is capable of firing arrows using magnetic rails which causes the arrows to go FTL. Other than this, the arrows are tipped in plasma and made extremely hard, so stiff that they won’t deform even on impact with solid metal. The melee weapon is a soul weapon, but usually made out of even nightsilver at times, as the Serpentshrine are just as adept at melee fighting as with going to war with their favored accelerator bows. Finally, side-arms include the koastrian shield and the integrated visor. The program can trace its roots all the way to the original exodite evacuation that led to the kingdom of Chrylli, when all the more powerful psyker’s that could be found were taken with the army into the fleet.
Serpentshrine guardian: (mark 7.5) unmatched psionic warrior. The guardian’s wield mostly the same weapons as the Serpentshrine initiates, but their armor is upgraded to the highest level of armor- FTPA (full tactic power armor). This armor may be thinner then TTPA, but it is far stronger, for it is made out of nightsilver and skadrite. The Serpentshrine guardians represent the pinnacle of chryllite military philosophy, and are utterly loyal to the high prince, Talik himself.
Haxlar: (mark 5) squad commander. Generally equipped as a Shadowbound but with more ornamentation.
Lesser Herakrus: (mark 6) lower division commander
Herakrus: (mark 7) subdivision commander
Greater Herakrus (prince): (mark 8) full division commander
High prince: (mark 9) special title reserved for Talik vax Elexios ai Centauraus.
Guardian: (mark 2-3) name for flier of convoy-craft’s.
Hunter: (mark 2) name for those who pilot seeker vessels
Lesser admiral: (mark 4) pilot of executioner class (and later on, any light cruiser.)
Admiral: (mark 5) commander of large cruiser.
Fleet admiral: (mark 7) commands entire battlecruiser.
High fleet admiral: (mark 8.5) commander of the archon-class warship
Sergeant: (mark 3) gunnery operators
Engi: (mark 3) shipboard mechanic
Operator: (mark 2) all other shipboard personal.
Ship chassis:
Seeker class: tri-winged fighter-bomber equipped with extremely powerful rocket systems, along with their primary arms of tri-linked pulse repeaters.
Convoy-class: raider-leveled ship equipped with a light archon cannon and twin-linked pulse repeaters. The pulse repeaters can be replaced with light ion cannons or thermal masers. Convoy’s carry around 8 passengers, though this room can be removed and replaced with up to 3 twin-linked thermal masers or pulse repeaters. Armored by a full 5-centimeter-thick platinum armor plating.
Shadowbolt: heavy escort-level ship, only slightly smaller than an executioner class armed with Darkmatter torpedoes and quad-linked Darkmatter beam weapons, along with a Darkmatter archon beam. Armored with 8-centimeter-thick platinum armor
Phoenix: while in appearance similar to a much heavier version of the convoy, the phoenix is actually the favored warship of Talik himself and is much different. Unlike the weaker warships, the phoenix has solid iridium armor, and sometimes even a nightsilver coating. This armor is typically around 5-centimeters thick. The ship is armed with a massive amount of weapons, including: 2 sets of twin-linked heat masers, 2 sets of twin linked light archon cannons, and 2 sets of twin-linked ion cannons. 4 sets of twin-linked pulse repeaters and a Darkmatter archon cannon. Mounted on the top is a set of twin-linked plasma burst cannons, and on the sides is mounted a set of 8 Shadowhunter missile systems. A shell of 8 centimeter thick titanium-iridium alloy protects this vessel.
Purgewraith: named after the same group that uses them, the purgewraith is a raider-sized craft made to combat the forces of nurgle above all else. The reason for its development was simple- while all chaos is generally hated by Talik, nurgle and slannesh are hated above all else. Thus, a special military unit was created to fight both- the purgewraiths fight nurgle, and the purebloods fight slannesh. The craft itself is a small, podlike vehicle, small even for a raider, with a beam cannon mounted on the front. This beam cannon is a heat maser, specially attuned to release chemical fires which are specially designed against up to 20 of the diseases of nurgle. It is in every fleet, in case of infection or attack by nurgle. Armored by 3 centimeters of solid iridium coated in titanium.
Purge vessel: this vessel is the largest in the standard chryllian armada (other than the nova-class supercarrier) and represents the pinnacle of chryllian integration systems. A massive warship (actually a cruiser) mounted with literally dozens of guns, most of which are anti-fighter and anti-escort, the purge vessel also loads a massive amount of bomber craft. While little good against other ships of its size or larger, it does have one other weapon- a massive centrally located archon cannon. Another interesting thing to note is that the purge vessel makes more use of the kinetic maser than any other standard ship, although the use of the kinetic maser among the purebloods and/or techguard is also common. Armored by 8 centimeters of platinum.
Pureblood: the pureblood is a craft named for the faction of Chrylli founded to fight slannesh. It is a small vessel, somewhere between raider and convoy, equipped with two wings, each with a relatively large engine, and in between them even a small fighter bay. The fighter bay usually holds two modified seeker vessels. The front of the ship contains a Darkmatter beam, along with two small ion cannons. Coated in a 6-centimeter shell of titanium. The richer varieties even have nightsilver coating.
Stingray: the stingray is a light cruiser armed with three powerful techguard tentacles, each one with a kinetic maser mounted on the front. It is the primary weapon of the techguard. Shell of 8 centimeters of platinum, coated in titanium.
Executioner class: the executioner class is another of the primary warships of Chrylli- it is in literally every fleet there is of Chrylli. It has tri-linked massive pulse cannons mounted on its wings, and a small archon cannon on the front. 10-centimeter thick platinum shell.
Nova-class Supercarrier: the nova-class supercarrier is a massive carrier dedicated to landing soldiers on the surface. Originally, the entire army was loaded onto these, which greatly reduced effectiveness of land assault. They can be transformed into fighter supercarriers, which can carry up to a hundred strike craft. 18-centimeter thick platinum shell.
Kraken: the kraken is a massive warship crossed with a research station crossed with a training center that serves as the home, base, and flagship of the techguard. A massive construct with 20 antifighter pule radiators, 4 of the largest techguard arms in existence (its primary weapons) and a massive archon cannon (rivaling even the one mounted on the archon itself) on the center, the kraken is a fully capable warship despite its uses as a home and research lab as well. It flies faster than most other ships its size, and its techguard arms are so powerful that they have been known to rip entire cruisers apart at close range. If necessary, the kraken’s techguard arms are given massive plasma-edged strikers on the end, or ionic cannons. Finally, as a sidearm, the kraken has 15 fully operational ion cannons mounted on its nose. The kraken is defended by 20 centimeters of iridium-platinum alloy plating.
Hyperion Supercarrier: the Hyperion serves as the flagship of the ground forces of Chrylli. It is a massive mobile base, carrying a hundred fifty strike craft, up to two thousand in landing parties, a massive amount of small archon cannons, and serves as a massive training center. The nova is based off of its design. A layer of 30-centimeter platinum protects the supercarrier.
Surger: the surger is the flagship of the purgewraiths. Shaped much the same, the surger is simply much larger. It has no plasma shielding, unlike most chryllian designs, but it DOES have energy shielding. As well, it has 5 sets of tri-linked heat masers and a single massive Thermal beam cannon. Armored in a shell of 12-centimeter platinum, it is the smallest of the flagships.
Angel of Retribution: the Angel of Retribution is the flagship of the purebloods. Shaped as a giant winged bird, it is piloted by a psyker known only as Knurin the pure. It is armed with 6 kinetic maser cannons, two massive Darkmatter cannons, and a single Darkmatter beam cannon, it is even equipped from the legendary (and ill-looked upon) soul cannon, which fires focused lasers of light through the lenses of soul gems, which is extremely powerful against demons and chaotic creatures of any type. Armored in a shell of 18-centimeter iridium, with a coating of pure titanium.
The Titanstar: originally the flagship of Talik himself, the Titanstar is still the flagship of the Serpentshrine guard. Boasting 20 Darkmatter beam cannons, an archon cannon, and 35 pulse radiators, the Titanstar is a perfect expression of Serpentshrine might. Armored in a shell of 2-centimeter nightsilver and 20-centimeter platinum.
The Archon: the Archon is the largest ship in Talik’s fleet, boasting more weapons and raw firepower than any other ship- it has 80 guns, each one of which is linked with 16 different barrels. It also has the four largest ionic cannons to ever be mounted on anything ever. In the center, is the weapon named after the ship- the archon cannon, a massive beam cannon that shoots a stream of pure radiation (as opposed to other attacks, this is a wave of pure energy with literally no mass at all) in a massive stream against the enemy ship.
Land cruisers
Hydra: the heavy tank of the chryllian armada, the hydra is a massive tank with very little mobility, side armor, or even ability to fire while mobile. However, despite all logic proclaiming that this would make the tank archaic and useless, any who have seen the tank in action would agree that these flaws are more than made up for by the tanks raw firepower. Mounted with massive cannon, and several sidearms depending on the chassis, the hydra’s raw firepower is rivaled only by its armor’s resilience. The massive cannon- usually a scorcher cannon or pulse cannon, but occasionally anionic cannons are also mounted- can only be fired while the machine is brought to a halt, for the recoil is such that the vehicle has to be stapled into the ground to fire its cannon- the exception is with the anionic cannon, which is capable of firing while moving, albeit at a slower speed.
Besides its primary weapon, the hydra also provides numerous sidearms and tactical advantages. When mounted with the pulse cannon, this is typically in the form of Activuon-manned twin-linked NMG turrets on either side. These fire twice as fast, twice as powerfully, and 1.76 times as large projectiles, as the normal NMG’s. These are typically aided by a sidearm of splinter pistol. The variant mounted with a heavy scorcher cannon rarely uses any sidearms, but when it does it is usually in the form of a tri-linked pulse repeater or light ionic cannon which is aimed as an AA weapon. The variant with the anionic cannon usually has a large number of smaller, twin linked, superlight ionic cannons.
Bladehunter: The bladehunter is an extremely mobile attack vehicle designed for skirmishing and breaking up enemy formations. Shaped with two rotators only, it is a long and sleek vehicle with extreme agility and speed. Armed with twin-linked pulse repeaters or superlight ionic cannons, the bladehunter is somewhat weaker in the way of assault weaponry. An experimental design is called the Nightstalker, a more powerful design made of solid nightsilver and mounted with a cloaking device and extra weapons.
Lore
the origins of the chryllites date back 10'000 years, all the way to the grand crusade. A border world, merely a star ahead of the imperial conquest, Decided to save its (exodite) civilian population by evacuating it. While some of the military was sent to help with the evacuation, the majority of it remained behind to buy the refugees time- but it was never needed. Just before the planet was invaded, the horus heresy began, preventing the imperium from attacking. The planet itself was surrendered to the imperium already, but the imperium's military force was never brought to bear. Instead of following the civilian population, the Fleet commander ordered the ships to leave orbit and depart into the interstellar void.
The fleet wandered nomadically through the void for a long time, periodically stopping in a solar system to recharge their systems (solar power). But at long last, one of the soldiers- no more then an average warrior- onboard one of the ships, he led a coup d'état, And infiltrated the programming segments of the ship. Along with a small force of warriors, he fought his way into the command deck and defended it long enough for him to upload a virus which would make him, and only him, the recognized commander of all the ships. With complete control of the technical systems of the fleet, he was able to force all of his rivals to submit to his authority, lest he open up the airlocks on their ships. While for a while there was great unrest- helped in no small part due to his radical designs- eventually the warriors of the faction realized that he, and only he, was the uncontested ruler. Among other things, he completely rewrote the command structure, created a dozen new titles and destroyed a dozen more, radically altered the entire fleet, changed the tactics used, and otherwise obliterated all former military structure in favor of his own designs.
Command chain (important characters and titles, I will make this brief.)
Sthadrin: High Prince of Chrylli, authority is uncontested. Has a number of cybernetic enhancements, including extensive nanotechnology circulating through his blood (visually, this makes his eyes yellow and glowy.), a cybernetic blink drive/jump pack built into his back, and four Daedrites on his back. Wields a pulse repeater and a soul weapon in the form of a falchion. Wears FTPA
Farentril: second in command, High Fleet Admiral, captain of the Archon. Wears FTPA, and uses his soul weapon, a massive spear. He also occasionally wields a superlight ionic pulse cannon.
Herakrus Numeax: holding the reserved title of herakrus serpentshrine, he has command of both the serpentshrine guard and the land military forces. Personally commands the legions in tangent, and the first legion in talik's abscence. Wears FTPA, and uses his soul weapon, a small axe. He also occasionally wields a massive archon cannon.
Herakrus Narscil: commands second legion. Wears QTPA and uses otherwise standard equipment.
Herakrus Tarbrin: Commands third legion. Wears QTPA and otherwise standard equipment.
Officer: support personal aboard the flagships. Uses standard squad commander equipment, plus an ornate small pulse repeater.
Talik: Techguard officer with extensive cybernetics, including four Daedrites, extensive nanomechanical upgrades, a cybernetically put in tech-pack on his back containing both a blink drive and a jump pack, and several places on his body which his armor is plugged into, where it cybernetically connects to his neural system. He wears TTPA, and wields a Bolt glaive in a single hand. It is rumoured he does not have a soul weapon. Additionally, he wields a pulse radiator in one hand.
Divisions
Land forces: the army that makes up the primary land forces of Chrylli. Despite being land-based armada, it still has a flagship, as is neccesary for any division for the fleet-based army.
First legion: largest legion, made of mostly specialized forces and heavy assault units, including 2 of the 5 Hydra tanks
Second legion: second largest legion, made of Line infantry, rank and file
Third legion: smallest legion, made up of volunteers and militia.
Serpentshrine Guard: the most advanced and elite portion, Made up of powerful psyker-warriors which are unparallelled in combat. They arent a very large force, but make up in their lack of numbers in uncontested skill.
Initiate chamber: the initiate chamber is the majority of the serpentshrine, not quite commanding the respect the guard does. These are more commonly used in straight up combat, the guard being reserved for the most important missions
Guard chamber: the guard chamber makes up the elite, even among the serpentshrine. They are the personal warriors of Talik himself, fighting alongside him and following no orders other then his, and in his absence, the herakrus numeax.
Fleet: the fleet is arguably the most important part of the chryllite armada, as the entire army is fleet-based. Its flagship is the Archon.
Purge division: the purge division, led by the archon, is made up of the heavier warships in the fleet, as well as the orbital strike mechanisms. Unlike the land forces and serpentshrine divisions, the fleet divisions work closely together so as to maximize tactical efficiency.
Invasive tactical division: made up of the faster and more numerous parts of the fleet, it makes heavy use of seeker vessels. It is led by an executioner-class warship known as the 'furycaster'.
Techguard: the techguard is the more technologicaly-minded part of the fleet. Having access to extremely powerful technology and deadly-powerful ships, they also conduct the research of the chryllite's. Their flagship, the Kraken, has not yet been completed and so they mostly are found onboard the archon-class. In combat, they have a highly tactical role, using their advanced technology to strike in surgical blows commanded directly by Talik himself.
Whew, that was alot. Now, some notes. My faction is descended from the exodites, but they are no longer exodites themselves although some still show signs of their warrior ancestry. Unlike the craftworld eldar, dark eldar, or the exodites, the Chryllites refuse to allow chaos to dictate their lives, and instead of simply protecting their souls they strive to outdo chaos, to drive it back and to completely free themselves of chaotic influence. Now, my forces... (note, not all of the ships above have actually been built yet.)
830 Activuon
3700 Shadowbound
700 Namin
125 Serpentshrine Initiates
135 Steroth
25 Chochman
full crew of Chaglimneran, +5
30 Serpentshrine guardians.
And now the vehicles... (this is going to take forever....)
2 Shadowbolts
5 Phoenix's, Not including a still-under-construction experimental super-phoenix.
700 Seeker-class fighter craft (VERY powerful for a fighter craft)
3 Stingwraiths
3 Nova-class supercarriers, uses experimental technology to create small miniature dimensions (similar to tesseract labyrinth) to carry soldiers better.
7 purebloods
7 purgewraiths
2 Purge vessels
50 Convoy-classes (These tend to die alot, I have noticed, so I decided to compensate by giving myself more of them.)
12 Executioner-classes (staple warship, its a cruiser but far, far, far more powerful than imperial cruisers.)
all of the capital ships.
15 Hydra's
45 Bladehunters
5 Nightstalkers
Sorry if any of it was off. It was designed for a conflict between Talik and Sthadrin, so some weapons that were meant to be deployed by Talik might show up even though they arent in the description.
