There is a huge number of publications on the Warhammer 40,000 universe, some released by Games Workshop and some fan written.

Here on the Warhammer 40k Wiki we use information from publications by: Games Workshop, Black Library, Citadel Miniatures and Fanatic. This is to be able to check facts, and so that people know where to find more information. Sources should be put in parenthesis at the end of a paragraph.
