Diamantine is a composite ceramic material used by the Imperium of Man to fabricate weapons, ammunition and some forms of personal body armour. "Diamantine" means consisting of diamonds, or resembling diamonds' molecular structure and is probably an indicator that some form of industrialised diamond material is used in the ceramic composite.

Known Uses

Standard Bolt

  • Diamantine is used to tip standard Bolter ammunition. The standard Bolt rounds for Assault Cannon and other projectiles also have diamantine tips. This material replaces the more common materials like lead, steel and tungsten that were used in ancient firearms in the late 2nd and early 3rd Millenniums.
  • Armour for Imperial forces is sometimes constructed of diamantine, or walls and doors are sometimes lined or constructed from it, notably in the walls of an Adeptus Astartes Chapter's Fortress-Monastery.
