The Imperial Aquila

The Galenus, also known as the Galenus Mobile Medicus, is a variant of the Samaritan medical transport, and was once used by the Imperial Army during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy eras of the late 30th and early 31st Millennia. The Galenus Mobile Medicus was a heavy tracked vehicle constructed from an extended Samaritan chassis, and was as wide and long as a super-heavy tank. The Galenus was equipped with a full surgical suite with bio-readouts for patients, and included twenty casualty berths.

The vehicle's main use was to provide for the stabilisation and transportation of wounded infantry out of the combat zone so they could recover and return to active duty. The Galenus was also capable of transporting the dead when needed. Despite being the size of a super-heavy vehicle, the Galenus was capable of speeds far beyond what its size would suggest, as its powerful engines were capable of quickly getting the wounded out of harm's way. The Galenus was staffed by several combat medics and nursing Servitors and was under the command of a Surgeon-Captain. It is unknown if the Galenus is still used by the Astra Militarum -- successor to the Imperial Army -- in the late 41st Millennium.
