I know that most of you have head about how most imperial gaurd regiment's are same sex, by that i mean that there are only either all men serving in one regiment or all females in one regiment. There have been many stories that have been published and tales that have been told about the countless actions of the regiment's that have bestowed great Honor and Glory to not only their regiment, but to also the God-Emperor himself.
All I want to know is, where are the tale's of the all-female regiment's ? I'm just curious.
Understood but the 597th regiment is a combination of the all male 301st and the all female 296th making it a coed unit. I would just like to know about any other all-female regiment's and why their stories are not being told? just curious.
Aren't regiments fairly uni-sex? The imperium is incompetent at times but if find it hard to grasp that the significant mayority of regiments would give a shit about the fact the soldier shooting at the enemy has ttis or not. The tyranids/orks/ everything else isn't giving a shit so i don't see the guard doing it a mayority of the time.
All female regiments are really rare in the guard. The 597th is the one that comes to mind but as others noted that units a result of a merge between two different regiments that were decimated by the nids so as a result it has more woman in it than most other regiments. The Tanith first also has quite a few woman in them as well.
There's a planet called Xenonia which had some regiments participate in Armegeddon that's implied to be all-female (it's not stated but the artwork was a woman and the planet's name is friggin' Xenonia for crying out loud)
That's the only official canon all-female regiment to my knowledge.
An all female regiment would basically be an Amazon-style regiment formation with the females fighting as hard as their male compatriots. Also if a planet that only raises female only regiments would be a planet that women have more power over then men and that high to noble jobs/task would go to women and the lower/labour focused task would go to the men. In other words safer/ less labour hardened and noble-like jobs go to the women, and the hazardous/more labour hardened and lower/dangerous jobs would go to the men.
