Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Soulstorm is the third and final expansion of the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War series. It features two new factions which are the Dark Eldar and the Sisters of Battle. Each older faction will receive new units and air units will be incorporated as well. The campaign is much like the Dark Crusade one with the experience being enhanced. This time players must conquer four planets and three moons to win. The game also features multi-player awards including medals which are earned when certain objectives are accomplished.

The story is that all nine factions are exploring a star system when a freak warp storm catches them all off guard. The tempest wreaks havoc with their navigational systems effectively stranding the armies until the storm has subsided or a clear victor has arisen.

Much like its popular predecessor, Soulstorm is a stand-alone pack. All nine factions are available for play in the campaign and single player skirmish games, but in order to play as the older factions online, the player must have all of their respective games to unlock them. The platinum edition of Dawn of War includes the original game and its two previous expansions.

[edit] The Dark Eldar
The Dark Eldar are the evil counterparts to their Eldar brethren. Unlike their cousins, they thrive on torture, pain, and death. This diabolical race enjoys nothing more than conducting fast hard hitting raids and slaughtering any foolish enough to resist. Those who are unlucky enough to survive face torture and enslavement. They will surely be subject to torture and eventual death be it by execution or horrid experiments performed on them. The Dark Eldar kill to feast upon the souls of their victims. By consuming their victim's vital essence, they rejuvenate their own bodies and prolong their own lives. They are in this sense a variation of the vampire. The Dark Eldar do not desire your blood, but rather they crave your soul. Should you face them in battle, hope that you will granted mercy, and not be taken alive...
[edit] The Sisters of Battle
Under the burning banners of the righteous and immortal Emperor march the most devout and zealous of his devotees the: Sisters of Battle. Among humanity's finest warriors, they stand strong on the field of battle with their impervious power armor and their unshakable faith as their shield. Charged with purging the Imperium of foul traitors, cursed heretics, and malicious witches, these women are among the bravest soldiers fielded by the Imperium. Seasoned with millennium of battle experience, these hardened fighters of the Emperor truly demonstrate the undying testament of undeniable faith. They possess an indescribable hatred for all those who would dare oppose the awesome will of the Emperor and will face them on any battlefield and purge their soul with holy fire like the flames of the Hell that await all Xenos, unrepentant heretics, criminals, mutants, and unclean. The Sisters serve as the Emperor's right hand and extend his righteous word to all humanity.
